valium

question...I had gastric 7 months ago and what i want to know is it safe pouch wise to take valium(for insominia)...

Since I'm not a medical person, I can't tell you if it's safe or not, but I can tell you that have had occasion to have it prescribed for me and it was effective. I would suggest contacting your Dr. to see if they have any concerns. 

My surgeon RX'd me Valium for anxiety. I am sure he wouldn't have prescribed it if it was going to be harmful. Of course all docs are different, you should contact yours to see what he thinks.

Hi..................just wanted to add my 2 cents here......I have never had a sleep problem until last year!......April 2010 to be exact......I developed severe insomnia and acne....the acne is finally clearing after a year but insomnia still exists....

I have been on Ambien 10mg for over a year....after a while it becomes addictive and will not work so I have to take Ambien with Xanax 1mg to get a decent night sleep...

My PCP prescribed me a sleep study again and interestingly I popped on here and saw your post about valium cause my PCP prescribed me Valium yesterday...5mg to take at night.....my experience........nothing....

I was still buckeyed so I had to take a Ambien and this morning I felt nauseated.....so it did not work for me!

  i have been on valium for a couple yrs.. i take 10mg at night bout half hr before bed n i sleep for awhile.. but i usually have to take vicodine with it, i have cronic back pain.. both my bariatic dr n reg dr both approve it, n it seems to help.. i have tryed ambien it doesnt do anything for me but seems to make me drousy in the morning,, n i cant be drousy when i get my twin 5 yr old grandkids.. they would have a hay day with sleepy gram..  lol..

  im only almost 10 weeks out also..

hey all thanks for replying the only difference is im epilipic,so i need to ask my neurologist,family dr,and my surgeon.ambien and lunesta made me really really depressed.those are non- benzodiazpanes and so i thought i would try just the  benzodiapanes.so im on ativan and restorial.but even with both i still can only sleep 3-4 hours.so looking up different benzo i came up with valium.so hopefully all my docs say its ok.the main one is my neurologist.thanks cathy
